WAP
WAP (Wireless Application Protocol) is a standard that allows the internet to be viewed on a mobile phone. This view of the internet is normally a cut down view from what you would as standard see from a web browser on a PC and is optimised depending on the handsets that is used to view and its own capabilities.

Wapfly have had experience in WAP site development since it was really born in the UK for delivery of mobile content over the air to handsets. This experience gives us a great advantage in creating the new media rich WAP sites required by clients and end users around the world.
An extensive database of handsets and all their capabilities resides in the wapfly mobilize platform that allows any WAP development done by wapfly to be optimised for viewing on the wide range of handsets in the market place. This includes height and width restrictions of the screen, colours, links and the file formats of any content such as images and video that may be put on the WAP site.

All WAP developments can incorporate a range of other Wapfly products and services including adding mobile content and premium billing mechanism to charge end users for access to certain areas. Linking SMS technology to a WAP development allows users to to sent links to their message inbox that allows them to connect direct to the site with one click.
The majority of WAP developments are bespoke to a clients needs and are tailored to the audience of users they predict will use the WAP site.
